About
Do you like zines? Of course you do, Portland loves zines.
Whether you make 'em, or read 'em, or just like to look at them this ride is for you.
Bring some zines of your own creation, or just a few you're willing to part with and trade and then go for a ride, stopping at a few locations that have fostered the zine community (there's a lot so I'm just choosing a few).
The idea is to trade, but if you're inclined to sell them (after all, time, effort, and work go into these) that's OK too.
We will start with a meet up at Laurelhurst Park at the picnic area on the North side of the park (closer to SE Ankeny St) to do the trade/swap/what-have-you at 12:00pm and then depart around 1:00pm to ride out to the Microcosm store, Secret Room, and conclude with a tour of Portland's zine mecca: the Independent Publishing Resource Center (or IPRC for short).
This will be the release of Hex zine #3 as well, a more music-based zine, as well as the accompanying free side-zine, Portland Is a Bike Gang (a free comic zine, which will only be for this ride!)
Safety tip: don't read zines while you ride. There will be time for that after the ride.
