About Biiikes
Biiikes is a calendar of group bike rides in Portland. Have a look around and find one you’d like to try.
What’s Biiikes?
It’s a calendar of group bike rides in Portland, listed in the order they start.
Nobody can pay to move a ride up the calendar or in search, or to push one off. There are no ads on the calendar, either.
You don’t need an account to look around. The calendar and every ride’s page are open to anyone. You can also add a ride, or the whole calendar, to your phone’s calendar app.
What can I do with an account?
If you make one, you can tap “I’m going” on a ride, see who else is going, save rides for later and follow people. You can also choose whether your profile is public or private.
You can get a reminder before a ride you’re going to, with the weather, and hear about it if the ride changes or gets cancelled.
Where do the rides come from?
Most of them come from Shift, at shift2bikes.org. Shift is a volunteer group that’s listed Portland’s group rides since 2002. Shift doesn’t run Biiikes and isn’t part of it.
We copy rides over from Shift’s calendar and pick up updates regularly, so when something changes on Shift, it shows up here soon after.
Who runs the rides?
Every ride has its own ride leader, and they’re the ones who run it, not Biiikes. We list rides. We don’t organize, plan, check or supervise them.
Can I post my own ride here? Not yet. Right now nobody can post or edit a ride on Biiikes.
If something on a ride looks off, its leader can fix it on Shift. Most ride pages link to the ride on Shift.
Why does Biiikes exist?
To help more people find a group ride and go, and to ride with people they know.
Riding a bike is fun. Riding with a bunch of other people, some of them friends, is even better.
Who makes Biiikes?
Biiikes is made by Biiikes LLC.
