NOTERacial Housing History Ride

About This ride is a 2-part series! This ride is for casual riders to learn about Portland's shameful history of racially-based housing discrimination, hosted by the Fair Housing Council of Oregon's Marlee Baker. Marlee Baker (they/them) is an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Nation. Since 2022, Marlee has worked with the Fair Housing Council of Oregon as an Education and Outreach Coordinator, and for the past three years, has directed FHCO’s historical bus tour, “Fasten Your Seatbelts, It’s Been a Bumpy Ride: A Bus Tour of Portland’s Hidden Discriminatory History.” They hold a Bachelor of Social Work degree from George Fox University and previously worked with adults experiencing homelessness in Washington County. Ride Details: Guided bike tour, relaxed pace, 4-5 miles, low stress. Please come prepared with water & snacks, as needed. This ride can accommodate cars if needed for accessibility, though the stops will require parking and walking to view sites on the tour. Please email [email protected] with any questions.
