Delete your account
You can delete your Biiikes account yourself, in the iPhone app, the Android app or on biiikes.com. In Settings it's called Erase everything. Here's how, and what's deleted and what's kept when you do.
On this page 7 sections
In the app
- Tap your profile photo at the top of the screen to open your menu. No photo yet? It's the round pattern in the same spot.
- Tap Settings, then Your data.
- Tap Erase everything.
- You're asked first, and offered Leave instead. Confirm to erase your account.
On the website
- Sign in at biiikes.com.
- Go to Settings, then Your data.
- Tap Erase everything, then confirm.
The next 7 days
As soon as you confirm, you disappear from Biiikes and nobody is told. You're signed out everywhere, and any apps or assistants you connected lose access.
7 days after you confirm, everything about you is deleted and can't be brought back.
Until then you can stop it. Sign in at biiikes.com, go to Settings and tap Keep my account. The apps won't sign you in once you've asked to erase your account, so do this on the website.
Leave instead
Leave is the other way out. Nobody can find you and Biiikes stops sending you anything, but nothing is deleted. There's no time limit. To come back, just sign in again.
What's deleted
When the 7 days are up, we delete:
- Your account, phone number and email
- Your profile: name, username, profile photo, cover photo, pronouns, bio and links
- The rides you said you're going to and the rides you rode
- Who you follow, who follows you, follow requests and close friends
- Your settings and sign-ins
- Your calendar link, which puts your rides in your calendar app
- Your push notification sign-ups
- Who invited you, and who you invited
- Where you ride from
- What we recorded about how you used Biiikes while you were signed in, and on the same browser when we can tie it to your account
Our email provider's copy of your email is removed too. Riders you've ridden with lose the counts that came from you, so their rides in common with you go down.
What's kept, and why
- If you agreed to get texts from us, we keep the record that your number agreed. It's kept against the number, not your account, until you withdraw it, because we have to be able to show we were allowed to text you. To withdraw it, reply STOP from that number or write to us at [email protected].
- What you read on Biiikes before you had an account, and crash reports from the apps, are kept. Nothing we hold connects them to you, so we can't find them to delete.
- We may keep what the law requires, like a record of a photo that matched known child abuse material, which has to be reported.
Can't sign in?
If you can't sign in, for example because you lost your phone or changed your number, email [email protected] and we'll help.
