SUMMARY:Ride to the PDX Airport
STATUS:CONFIRMED
LOCATION:Irving Park\, Irvington
DESCRIPTION:Riding to the airport is easy and fun. Come learn one of the e
asy routes in a low stress situation. \n\nThere are lots of good reasons
to ride to the airport. From most of NE Portland it is comparable in time
to driving\, and much faster than MAX. Parking is safe and free. You ge
t a nice exercise buzz before you are confined to an airplane seat for a c
ouple hours. And\, coming home\, you just saunter out of the terminal\, m
ount your steed\, and bam! You're back on the Bikeways of Portland\, feel
ing good\, while your seatmates are waiting for MAX or taking a shuttle to
long term parking. \n\nThe big problem with riding to the airport is nav
igation -- there are a couple mediocre routes between Lombard St and the a
irport\, no signage\, and you don't want to be semi-lost in this area when
you're in pressed for time. For our route today\, we'll head out the Ski
dmore/Going bikeway system\, go north on the 82nd Ave of Roses in the low
traffic/wide shoulder section north of Alberta St (with *actual* *rose* *b
ushes*!!!)\, and check out both of the bike paths that go to the airport f
rom 82nd. It's reasonable easy navigation\, and reasonably comfortable.
We'll also visit both of the long-term bicycle parking areas. \n\nAfter r
iding it for fun\, you'll be ready to do it when you need to catch a plane
. \n\nReturn is by bike or by MAX\, your choice. (It's a one way trip fo
r me\, as I'll be locking my bike and flying away!)\n\nLeer más: https://
